In April Springmead school achieved the Green Flag from Eco-schools. This means that Springmead is a school that cares for the environment and recycles, reduced its energy consumption and has an Eco-committee of children. Our committee are called Eco-Buddies and include children from year 6 down to Reception.
We recycle paper, fruit and ink cartridges. We monitor the amount of electricity, gas and water that is used through the school. With electricity we have monitors that turn off lighs and monitors that judge each class according to how green that class is, awarding green, orange and red balloons.
Springmead Primary have an eco-committee (known as the Eco-Buddies), who make sure that the school in no way harms the planet. The Eco-Buddies do this by always recycling paper, making sure no energy is wasted, and by taking part in other eco-friendly activities
