RED NOSE DAY
Friday 24th March! Come dressed in red and donate what you can to help those who are supported by this great charity.
Meeting with the PTA
On 2nd March we met with 2 members of the PTA to discuss what we would like to see on the new artificial grass surrounding the outdoor classroom. We talked to our classes about it and some ideas included: toadstool seats, monkey bars, tyre swing, flower pots, tracks drawn on and cars to use on it, water/sand tables and much more.
Spring 2017 project
This term the school council reps will be busy making welcome packs for any new starters. In previous meetings we decided that this would be an important thing to do as starting a new school can be a very daunting experience and we hope these packs will help provide useful and helpful information.
Each class has a school council representative. The reps are chosen by the children and they remain members of the council for a whole school year. The school council is made up of children from reception to year 6.
Meetings are held regularly and lots of issues and ideas are discussed.
In the past the school council has been responsible for girls being allowed to wear trousers to school, the design of a new school logo and the school council worked with the PTA on the designs for revamping the school’s anniversary garden.
The school council always like to be involved in fundraising activities and have raised lots of money over the years for charities such as Comic Relief, Children in Need, Cancer Research, NSPCC and Dr Barnardo’s.
Our school council members should all have a special green badge so they can be easily identified.
We now have a chairperson, vice-chair, secretary and 2 treasurers.
We hope to bring you news of the work we are doing on our next project soon!
