Hall Rebuild Project

Thank you for your interest in the upcoming rebuild of our school hall! We are thrilled to be working in partnership with our project team to create a modern, vibrant space that will not only benefit our pupils’ daily learning but also serve as a fantastic hub for the wider community.

Construction is officially set to begin on Monday 9th March, with a scheduled completion date in late November. We understand that a project of this scale brings its own set of challenges, so we are working closely with our contractors to ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum for our neighbours and students.

I will use this page to provide regular updates on our progress—any unforeseen hiccups notwithstanding! We can’t wait to see the heart of our school transformed.

If you have any questions or wish to contact us in relation to this project then please email hall@springmead.herts.sch.uk and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

QuestionAnswer

When will the site be active?

Contractors will typically be on-site from 07:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, to avoid early morning or late-night noise.  There may be some works on a Saturday morning but they will be conducted in line with instructions from the planning department.

Will school drop-off be affected?

We have coordinated with the builders to ensure all heavy deliveries happen outside of peak drop-off and pick-up times to keep our pupils safe.  It should also alleviate any congestion for neighbours at those times.

How will noise be managed?

The contractors are using noise-reduction barriers where possible, and any particularly loud work will be scheduled during school holidays or after hours where at all possible.

Can the school community still use the grounds?

While the hall area will be strictly off-limits for safety, the rest of the school grounds and playground will remain accessible as usual.

What happens if the timeline changes?Construction can be unpredictable! If we hit any "unforeseen hiccups" (like extreme weather), we will post an immediate alert right here on this page.
